Jan 1st - Thermometer -04° below Morn, -12° below at Noon
Jan 2nd - Ther. -14° below Morn, -05° below at Noon, ½ past 2 -03° below, 9 P.M. -07°
3rd - Ther 00° at Noon, 16° above Noon, 10° Nine P.M. 4th - 08° Morn, 12° Noon, 07° 9 P.M.
Jan 1st - Was a very cold and windy day. (S. West wind) 2 in. snow. No Sleighing. Jan 5th - It snowed 3 inches last night, It makes some Sleighing on a small scale. Ther. 14° above Morn, 08° above Noon, -03° below Nine P.M. 17th - -09° below Morn, 05° above Noon, -04° below Nine P.M., 18th - -09° below Morn, 09° above Noon.
19th - -04° below Morn, 19° above Noon, 18° above Nine P.M.
Feb 18th - Orin White Died about half past Seven O'Clock P.M. He was sick about two weeks. Orin White was the first settler in School District No. Eight Township of Ann Arbor. He settled in ------ in 1824. On the N. pt of the S. W. parcel 6 of Sec 26, T2SR6P. He moved from his farm in April 1863 to the Lower Town of Ann Arbor (Ward No. 5) where he Died. He was buried in the Lower Town grave yard, He was born near Palmyra N.Y. October 25th, 1794. His was the Sixth death of first ten settlers of School district No. 8 (His remains were removed to Forest Hill Cemetery shortly afterwards)
March 19th - I am Sixty three years old to day my health has been good the past year. This was a Cold stormy day. Thermom. 13° Morn, 20° Noon, 10° Nine P.M. Huron low but rough: one inch Snow. No sledding this past winter. A warm winter except a few very cold days.
March 20th - Ther. 08° morn, 20° noon, 04° Nine P.M., 21st - -02° noon.
March 12th - James Geddes of Adrian Died age 56 years.
8th - Mary Geddes + Charles Armstrong were married. Mr. Armstrong is an Irishman. He died in 1866.
April 1st - Harry Botsford born. His mother died in April 1864.
June 2nd - Bought a Buggy. Price $250.00.
August 16th - My daughter Sarah + her husband left home for Beloit via the Lakes. Sarah had been home on a visit. Staid a Month + a day. Her husband was here about ten days.
Oct 9th - Thermom 26° The first Morn that destroyed Vine tops this fall.
Nov. 12th - John Geddes Jun'r Went to the Commercial College of Detroit.
Dec 7th - About Five inches of snow fell to day.
Dec 8th - 4° above Morn, Noon 5° above, Nine P.M. -11° below Zero
Dec 9th -17° below Noon, 14° above P.M., 16° above (Dec 10th Morn 14° above)
Dec 10th - Four more inches of snow last night (Good sledding)
23rd - Smith Botsford + four sisters moved to Ypsilanti City this week (This day is Friday)
